Livestock Sales Terms & Conditions
- Livestock photos and identification
1.1 Where multiple animals are in stock an example photo will be used for advertising, this may not be a photo of the exact animal available. Exact photos are available upon request.
1.2 All livestock will be sold as either male, female or unsexed, whilst we will try to be as accurate as possible with sexing, we will not be held responsible for any errors (see 1.4).
1.3 Identification of morph or subspecies will be to the best of our knowledge and based upon information provided from the breeder/supplier.
1.4 Any discrepancies in sex or morph identification must be notified within 48 hours of arrival where we can arrange a refund upon the return of the animal, providing we agree with the discrepancy.
- Livestock sales conditions
2.1 We reserve the right to require proof of an appropriate enclosure and equipment before agreeing to a sale.
2.2 We reserve the right to refuse any sale where we believe that the animal’s welfare needs will not be met due to lack of correct setup, or poor knowledge and understanding of the animal's requirements.
2.3 Where a setup has a heat source a thermostat must be fitted (unless using a mercury vapour lamp or metal halide), we reserve the right to refuse a sale if a thermostat is not present. We will happily advise on safely heating your animal but will require the purchase of a thermostat with livestock if none present.
2.4 All lizard and amphibian setups will require a UVB light source, we reserve the right to refuse a sale if UVB is not present. We will happily advise on correctly lighting your animal but will require the purchase of a UVB with lizards and amphibians if none present.
2.5 Livestock will only be sold to persons over the age of 18, and we may ask for proof of age. Any livestock purchases for persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
2.6 New owners must ensure that they have permission of the homeowner or landlord where the animal will be housed.
- Livestock health guarantee
3.1 Captive bred reptiles collected from our premises will have a 7-day health guarantee provided all guidance stated in 3.1.X is followed.
3.1.1 Notification of any issue must be within 24 hours of the issue occurring.
3.1.2 Livestock must be transported in an appropriate and stress-free manner for the species without exposure to extreme temperatures.
3.1.3 Livestock must be housed in a setup agreed with in-store staff and placed in the new setup as soon as possible without delay.
3.1.4 Guidance from in-store staff must have been followed in terms of housing with others and any handling.
3.1.5 The buyer complies with any investigation into a reported health issue or death, failure to provide any of the information requested may void guarantee.
3.1.6 We will not be held responsible for any parasites present on a purchased animal, particularly animals sent by courier, and not properly quarantined upon arrival.
3.2 If death occurs within the 7 days, you must inform us immediately with proof of death via photograph and the body should be frozen until we contact you.
3.3 If the death is the result of user error by the new owner, such as incorrect husbandry, negligence or circumstances causing undue stress then livestock guarantee may be voided.
3.4 If death or ill health occurs after 7 days, and no health issues were reported prior, then we will not be held responsible.
3.5 Reptiles wild caught in origin, and ALL amphibians and invertebrates have a 48-hour guarantee after leaving our premises, providing appropriate transportation conditions are met.
3.6 All animals sent by our chosen courier have a 48 hour guarantee, regardless of species and source (WC/CB/etc.). If the buyer refuses to use our courier and instead chooses to organise their own, the animal is no longer covered by any form of health guarantee.
- Returns
4.1 We will refund in full any sale of a vertebrate animal up to 24 hours after purchase providing it is returned in the exact same condition as sold and with a valid receipt.
4.2 We will refund in full any equipment, dry food or supplements if unused and in unopened packaging for up to 28 days with a valid receipt.
4.3 Live food cannot be refunded.
4.4 Frozen food can only be refunded if the pack remains sealed and complete and within 28 days of original purchase with a valid receipt.
- We reserve the right to refuse any sale, refund or guarantee at any time if we feel it is necessary.
- When purchasing an animal from us you automatically agree to these terms of sale.
